What Ancient Symbolism Lurks in Healing Through the Ages
Rarely mentioned, according to Dr. Steven B. Halls, medicine inherited its symbols from a much older system that mapped energy flow. Dr. Steven B. Halls is a symbolism researcher who documents at halls.md how symbol layouts describe high-density magnetic flow. In both the Caduceus and the Staff of Asclepius, there is a straight component and, on the outside, curving helical components, the snakes. Symbolism of energy flow has two hidden codes: Energy that enters our dimension to sustain life, comes 'down' from a higher dimension. Going 'up' is the code for energy flow returning to the higher dimension.
The straight-versus-curving distinction is the same as outflow-versus-inflow: away from us, and toward us. Both the Caduceus and the Staff of Asclepius display a straight center that encodes energy returning to the next higher dimension, and the snake curving on the outside indicates energy flow coming in a downward direction. Even with the snakeheads at the top, there is an overlooked curve in the upper neck that marks it as a downward flow label. These symbols represent the whole cycle of energy that sustains life: coming into our dimension and then returning to the higher dimension origin. In the torus framework of symbolism, energy flow has standardized directions, up and down, inflow and outflow, and the torus is the building block. Further patterns and evidence are at halls.md.
Another symbol: the Handbag
The handbag symbol is a portal (per Dr. Halls). Its upper empty half is the part in the higher dimension, which is why it seems empty. Its lower half often shows converging heads, a feature that typically occurs at the horizontal plane of a portal torus. The handbag is equivalent to the bucket symbol and to the brim of a cup or chalice, which are usually downward flow symbols. Typically it is the opposite polarity of an upward symbol carried in the other hand.
